A £1 Yankee candle dupe?

When shopping yesterday, I went into a little, cheap cosmetics store (similar to home bargains, B&M etc. but only in my town) and came across this candle.

This is a brand called Mainstays in the scent black cherry, and when I smelt it I KNEW I had to have it. What made it more exciting you ask? It cost me £1!! ONE POUND! I recently bought a HUGE Yankee candle, also in the scent black cherry, so I took it home to compare the two.

The yankee candle has more of a sweet smell to it, which almost smells like cherry flavoured sweets, whereas the Mainstays candle has more of a subtle smell to it. Both smell just like black cherries, although the Mainstays in a more subtle, less in your face smell.

I think that the Yankee candle is more appealing, as the actual candle is a brighter colour, with nicer packaging and in a nice jar.

Overall, I am impressed with both these candles. I will definitely buy the Yankee candle again as a luxury, whereas I will buy the Mainstays candle as an everyday candle to light in each room and give a nice smell everyday.

Have you tried either one of these? What were your impressions?

Jewellery storage

I thought I'd do a quick post on my jewellery collection and storage just to show you guys a few pieces that I have got.

This is a basket that my Christmas present off my sister (coinsidently jewellery and make up) was in. I decided to use it as a temporary storage for bracelets but I think it's getting a bit overcrowded so I'm going to have to find another way to store them. I've already put some of the ones I wear less frequantly in a drawer to make more room.

This is a little necklace stand that I also recieved as a Christmas present. I know it's from new look (the label underneath the stand) but obviously don't know the price. I love it, I think it has a vintage look with the polka dot dress. However, I can't keep a lot of necklaces on it as it's not very sturdy.

This is just a little glass jar that I keep my studs and small earrings in. I did have them all in a earring holder but there wasn't enough room so now that only has the dangly earring on. This was in a charity shop for about 30p so I decided to get it for storing studs in.
Unfortunately, I have left my box of rings at my mums house :( so they will have to feature in a late blog, sorry!!

Obviously, my jewellery is overflowing and I am looking for suggestions on how to better store it and how you all store yours. Any ideas for me?

Thanks so much for reading, it means a lot to me :)
