A little MUA splurge

The Saturday just gone was a chance to meet an old friend for lunch, coffees and shopping. Whilst there, I nipped into Superdrug and picked up a few goodies from the MUA stand. I love MUA products as they are so affordable, and great dupes for some of the higher end brands, with really pigmented eyeshadows and long lasting liners to name a few. What's more, for only  £14 for such a big selection of products, how can you go wrong?

I absolutely adore MUA and I can't wait to try these products!

A Sleek limited edition palette

When Sleek released their Christmas palette 'Sparkle', I was dying to get my hands on one. Unfortunately, wherever I went, I could never find one and was devastated when they stopped making them. However, when visiting this blog sale, I saw one, and instantly ordered it.

When the palette arrived, I was so excited to open it and have a look at the real life palette that I had seen in so many Christmas magazines, and I wasn't disappointed with what I found.

All the colours were lovely and pigmented, meaning just a small amount went a long way when swatching. I also noticed that when I swatched each colour, they were really easy to apply and didn't dry out my skin which happens with some cheaper shadows.

Top row left to right: Cranberry, Dream maker, Galactic, Twinkle, Star light, Noir

Bottom row left to right: Illusion, Festive, Mistletoe, Glitz & Glamour, Gold Ribbon, Tinsel

The only colours I don't imagine getting much use out of are Cranberry and Gold ribbon, but I am going to experiment with them now and I'll be sure to take some photos soon.

MUA heaven and earth

Since MUA released eyeshadow palettes, I have been dying to get my hands on one. Unfortunately for me, my local one doesn't sell them, and whenever I have been to another, they are out of stock (someone must be trying to tell me to stop buying make-up). However, I found a Superdrug that sold them, and picked up a couple to try, and I'm so glad I did!!

The first one I have to show you is the heaven and earth palette. All of the MUA palettes retail at only four pounds for twelve colours, which is such a good deal. I decided on this one as the colours are all very neutral, everyday colours that could be worn at anytime. The colours are mainly matte, with two or three of them having more of a shimmery finish. I can see this as my go to palette for everything from highlighting to eyelid colour and crease.

As you can see, the colours are all really pigmented and so easily applied. I think swatching the colours for this post, not only gave you an idea of what they look like, but has given me a lot of ideas of how to wear the colours and what they look like on my skin.

I am already in love with this palette and I know it will be repurchased again and again.

Best budget blusher

As I'm sure you all know, MUA is a make-up brand which is sold is Superdrug. With most of their products costing only £1, I have to admit that I have tried almost everything from their collection.

This is the MUA blusher, shade 1. The stupid Blackberry photo is not showing just how pink this is. This shade is PINKpink. The blush is really (really, really, really) pigmented with a slight shimmer, meaning you only need to dust the smallest amount over your cheekbones to get a lovely effect (plus it lasts ages as you're using so little) I'd recommend this to anyone and everyone!!

Give it a go, for £1, you can't go wrong!!
