My favourite blogs (June)

I have decided that I am going to do a favourite blog list every month, to let you guys know what I have been reading and loving recently, and to motivate myself to keep finding new blogs and different bloggers to talk to. I am aiming to post a monthly list like this for you guys with about 5 blogs on each list.

I absolutely love this girl!! Her blog is right up my street and I think it has something for everybody. She updates her blog regularly with a variety of different things such as creative projects/ fashion/ beauty/ babies etc so I really think it caters for everyone's needs. You must subscribe! You can also find her on youtube here.

Like many of you girls, I LOVE a bargain. A thrifty Mrs gives you everything in her blog from money saving ideas and Saturday savings codes to DIY projects and housewife tasks. I love to read this as it gets my mind whirring about what I can do to be thrifty and save the pennies. A definite must read for everyone!!

I just found this girl the other day and subscribed immediately. She is another fashion DIY expert with a love of fashion and clothes. She writes specifically aimed at plus-size girls but I think this blog can cater to everyone's needs.

Not only have I recently started to follow this girls blog, I've also started talking to her and she is THE nicest girl you will meet. We've become overseas buddies and I can't wait for our swap (blog post to follow) ;)

I love this girl too!! I've been watching her youtube channel since the beginning and now I love to read her blog and see the latest beauty products she is using. I love her personality, it even comes through in her writing. A definite must follow!!

What blogs are you loving recently? Maybe I can read and feature yours next time, so send me your links too!!

Herbal essences dazzling shine

Hey guys! This is just going to be a quick post about an all time favourite shampoo and conditioner... Herbal Essences. This particular one is the dazzling shine range. The smell is a really fresh, clean, fruity scent.

Product claims
  • Shine reflecting/enhancing
  • Serum infused formula for moisturised softness
  • With botanical silk extract, cleans to help reveal natural shine
Actual result

The most important things about a shampoo and conditioner for me is that it cleans my hair, calms the frizz and makes it smell gorgeous and the Herbal essences range do all three. I love how my hair feels after I've washed it with this, and no matter what shampoo and conditioner I try, I always return to these. They are also so affordable and can be bought in any drug store or supermarket, but feel like a luxury product.

Have you used herbal essences range before? What is your favourite shampoo and conditioner and what do you always return to after trying new products?

Thanks for reading

Charity shop bargains :)

About a month ago I wrote some tips on how to shop in a charity shop so I took my own advice and bought a few bits myself. Everything in this mini haul came to a grand total of... FIFTEEN POUNDS!!

This is a really sheer, sleeveless top with a pussy bow which hangs longer at the back than the front and I thought would look really nice over a vest top in the summer.
I absolutely LOVE this dress. It was originally from New look and it only cost me four pounds. It has quite sheer, floaty sleeves which I think look so pretty for sunny days. It comes down to my knees so it's long enough to wear by itself and it gives you a really nice shape with the cinched in waist. I love the colours and the design and I love how flattering it is. I just love it! It's definitely my favourite purchase for a while and I can't wait to wear it.
This is just an  oversized, floaty vest top with buttons down the front which I got to wear over a pair of leggings.
This is just a little cardigan with short sleeves in a nice camel colour which is thin enough to wear on warmer days. I thought I would get this to cover up the top of my arms when I am wearing sleeveless tops in the summer and I thought the tan colour would go with a lot of different things.
Again, I love this. This was only two pounds and it is a black and white polka dot blouse with a pussy bow at the front and buttons down the middle which are covered by a piece of material, so you cannot see they are there. This is a bit sheer and I probably would wear it with a black tank top underneath, which is the only thing that lets this shirt down for me.
This is a long chained necklace with about ten strands coming down at different lengths with various beads on so they all gather together at the bottom. I love this and I think that it could make just a simple t shirt look more dressy.

I'd love to know if any of you have found any bargains recently and what you think about my finds. I am so sorry about the quality of the pictures, I currently don't have a camera so I am having to make do with my blackberry camera and, well, this is the result :-/

Simple kind to skin products for sensitive skin

My favourite skin care is the Simple kind to skin products. I am currently using the purifying cleansing lotion, pore minimising toning cleanser, oil balancing facial scrub, replenishing rich moisturiser and the intensive relief derma cream.

I love how these products make my skin feel, especially when I use the range together instead of mix and matching with other brands. I would definitely recommend these products to someone who, like me, has sensitive skin that is prone to dry patches and eczema as they put a lot of moisture back into the skin and make it feel softer. I have also found that since using this range my makeup goes on better with no flaky patches and stays on longer throughout the day.

I'd love to know if you guys use any different products aimed at helping with sensitive skin, and would love to know what you recommend.

Thank you very much for reading.

If you like this please check out my other posts and subscribe, it would mean the world to me :)

The best and worst drug store make up (Superdrug and Boots)

WORST

THIS! is the 2true cover 'n' conceal from superdrug. I think that this is superdrug's own brand (correct me if I'm wrong) and I hate it. It's one of those concealers that clogs up under your eyes and gets into lines and doesn't blend properly. This is the second time I have had a bad experience with 2true. I once bought a liquid eyeliner and after 1-2 hours of being applied, the line would start to crack and crumble and would have to be constantly reapplied. I don't know if it's just me, but I wouldn't buy anything from this brand again.

BEST

I absolutely love this foundation which is dream matte mousse in the shade cameo. It applies really well to my face and stays there most of the day. I love mousse foundations at the moment as I just find them so easy to apply and find that they go onto my skin really well, as well as not being too 'caked on' in the warmer weather.

This is Maybelline moisture extreme with SPF15 in the shade orchid frost. I absolutely love this lipstick. I use it most days and I just think it gives my lips a really shimmery, spring look. Recently, I've started to wear less make up on my eyes and made a effort to wear more lip colours as I never used to and this has to be my favourite.

This is by far my favourite powder at the moment. I don't tend to use much powder in the spring/summer as I think it's nice for your skin to look 'dewy' in those months. However, if my skin is looking shiny I always use this. It is the collection 2000 pressed powder in translucent and I love it.

This is a collection 2000 mascara called super size fat lash mascara and, of course, it's in black. I naturally have quite long eyelashes anyway and I think this mascara works well at opening up my eyes without having to use layer after layer to build it up like most. I would definitely recommend this mascara if you want to open up your eyes without the mascara clumping or flaking off.

There you go. My best and worst. Thank you for reading and if you have any questions comment below.

March favourites!

These are a few of my favourite products that I have been using in the last month (March)

This John Frieda frizz-ease spray gel with heat protection says it is meant to "give curls shining style with smooth, lightweight definition for up to 24 hours".
I use this product after I have washed my hair and want to have it curly instead of straight. I have naturally very frizzy, dry hair and this helped to calm down the frizz and keep my curls looking nice instead of out of control. I received this as a gift but I would purchase it again!!

This is a clean skin oil balancing facial scrub for every day use. This bottle only has a tiny bit left as it was a Christmas present and I have used it EVERYDAY!! I love it. I am definitely going to buy this again and again. It has made my skin so much clearer and smooth. I have been looking for a daily facial scrub for a while and this is by far the best one I have used so far.

This is another product by simple; the kind to skin replenishing moisturiser. I love the simple range and I definitely love this moisturiser! I also use the cleanser and toner and need to repurchase them which is why they are not in this blog post. I use this moisturiser morning and night everyday and have definitely noticed a difference in my skin.

This is a deep conditioning treatment that I try to use 1/2 a week after washing my hair. It is the VO5 emergency rescue elixir 1 minute nourishing treatment, but I actually leave it on for about 10 minutes. once again this product calms my frizzy hair after a shower and allows it to dry more sleek and smooth.

There's not much to say about this really, but I always repurchase this as it is cheap (only costing one pound!!) and good at removing nail varnish, which comes off easily first time round. In the past, I have bought nail varnish removers which I had to reapply and reapply to get the full amount of polish off but this works instantly.

Not very exciting but used ALL the time none the less. This is the aloe vera Vaseline. I use this on my lips everyday, as well as smoothing down eyebrows and moisturising dry skin. Superdrug and boots have now put the price of this up to about one pound thirty but Wilkinson's is selling it for 60p which is over half price. Get some now!!

All. Time. Favourite. Foundation. EVER!! This is dream matte mousse in the shade 020 cameo. I use this everyday and it gives my face a perfect finish, covering up blemishes and red patches perfectly. This is more make up than beauty product I know, but I had to include it. I bought this recently from Asda and they were selling 2 for ten pounds so it's worth having a try.

Thank you for reading my March favourites. If you have any questions that I have failed to answer then write them below and I will definitely reply.
